- Layer 1 / SFBE: is the corrosion protective layer. When only a SFBE system is used this layer provides the mechanical protection as well.
- Layer 2 / ARO: In a DFBE coating system the second layer, the Abrasion Resistant Overcoat (ARO) layer provides mechanical protection.
Additional rough coat as a second layer, may be applied when a Concrete Weight Coating (CWC) is to be added on top.

How It Works:
Dry epoxy powder is conveyed from a powder hopper to the spray guns using compressed air. The electrostatically charged powder is sprayed onto the preheated, rotating or linear moving pipe. The applied powder melts under heat and transforms into a cured anti-corrosion layer. Overspray is recovered and recycled. A powder flow control module provides closed-loop digital gun control, with up to 250 programmable recipes stored on a touch screen panel.
The Full Scope:
- For a complete FBE coating line Selmers supplies the pipe handling/conveying system, heating system (Induction) and quench tunnel as well.
- Equipment for blast cleaning and other treatments (acid wash, pipe-end cleaning, etc.)
- Additional features for improved sage working conditions or reduce amount of labour requirements.
- With an automation system such as Selmers Plant Management System, overall efficiency can be achieved further with concatenated equipment.
