The pipe is typically pre-heated by a gas-fired heater before entering the external blaster. The external blaster uses abrasives to remove dirt, rust and other contaminants. The process also roughens the pipe surface therefore creating an ideal texture required for coating adhesion. This process ensures that the coating bonds strongly to the pipe, enhancing its durability and corrosion resistance. After external blasting, a blow-out system is often used to remove residual dirt and dust from the internal pipe.
