Introduction:
Stoppers are essential components in pipe handling systems, designed to control pipe movement throughout different stages of processing and transportation.
Solution:
Stoppers are used to stop, kick through, and secure pipes in place within pipe handling systems. They ensure handling of pipes one by one, preventing multiple pipes from accidentally rolling into a processing station or onto a conveyor line.
Key Features:
- Hydraulically or pneumatic driven systems
- Compatible with various pipe diameters and weights and materials
- Integrated with Selmers’ automated pipe handling systems possible
- Durable construction for industrial environments
Benefits:
- Economic pipe handling solution
- Robust construction ensures long-term reliability in demanding industrial environments
- Programmable operation sequences for different pipe handling requirements
- Versatile design accommodates a wide range of pipe diameters
- Seamless integration capabilities with automated control systems enhance overall system efficiency
- Built-in safety features prevent accidental release or unexpected stopper movement
How It Works:
Pipe stoppers are typically installed at the end of pipe rack track, to prevent pipes rolling uncontrolled into a specific process station or conveyor. After a process station/conveyor can accept a new pipe, the stoppers-arm lowers and subsequently kicks one pipe through. The arm raises again to stop the next pipe. Depending on the pipe length (combined with pipe diameter) the minimum amount of parallel operated stoppers is 2.
The Full Scope:
- Pipe racks for storage and staging
- Lower-in / kick-out handlers for transferring pipes between levels
- Pipe indexers for precise positioning
- Rotation units
- Control systems for integrated operation
