It is ideally suited for large-scale pipe manufacturing and coating plants.

Operates autonomously, minimizing human intervention and reducing operational errors. Capable of marking both the interior and exterior of pipes across a broad range of diameters (8” – 64”).
  • High-Precision Inkjet Marking Technology: Equipped with high-resolution inkjet printing for sharp, durable, and legible markings on both coated and uncoated pipe surfaces. Supports a variety of ink types (pigmented and non-pigmented) for different coating applications. Guarantees clear identification, aiding in tracking, logistics, and meeting API 5L specifications.
  • Advanced Safety and Protection Features: Emergency stop systems on the control panel and safety gates ensure maximum operator protection. Designed to meet rigorous industrial safety standards, reducing workplace hazards.

How It Works

Laser sensors detect the pipe and ensure it halts at the correct marking station. The system then precisely positions the print head using advanced sensors. The ink marking, UV marking, QR code, or RFID tag is applied in a controlled motion, ensuring uniform marks with multiple print strokes or in a straight line, depending on the configuration. After the marking process, the print head retracts, and the system awaits the next pipe. The Pipe Marking Unit is connected to a data system that allows the user to program text, character type, and size. If connected to Selmers’ SPMS, print data is integrated into the overall pipe production thread.

 

The Full Scope

Includes the marking unit pedestal, print head, ink tanks, ink metering and circulation system, print head cleaning system, print text computer, control unit and RFID encoding module. By integrating technology, smart controls and advanced safety features, this system ensures high-quality, traceable markings while optimizing production workflows and reducing operational costs.

Optional SPMS: Automatically retrieves batch data and adjusts marking parameters to match pipe specifications. Provides real-time monitoring and traceability to enhance quality control and compliance with regulations.
