Indentation Tester

Indentation Tester

The indentation hardness tester is designed for testing the resistance of the coating to the indentation of an indentor.

Advantages:

The test equipment is designed according DIN 30670 and DIN 30678

Prepared to perform up to 5 tests

Easy way to measure indentation of PE/PP with maximum sample dimension of 100 x 100 mm

How it Works

The instrument consists of a steel frame which vertically guides the indentors. The frame is fitted with levellers in order to obtain a perpendicular position of the indentor to the test surface. The sample must be placed on a flat surface underneath the indentor and is placed gently on the coating. The indentor has a weight of 2,5 kg.

The Full Scope:

Set of five pre-weights with an indentor

Five main weights

Support frame

Temperature controlled water bath

Dial gauges 5x

Optional:

For testing at elevated temperatures up to 150°C, a stainless steel water bath with thermostatic controlled heater is provided.

The indentation hardness tester is designed to test according to DIN 30670 and DIN 30678. According to this standard, a coating sample of no more than 2 mm thick and free from adhesive must be tested. The indentation after 24 hours is measured.
