Extruders are mainly used for application of adhesive (glue between FBE and top coat) and top-coat layers (mechanical protection). This in a 3-layer polyethylene (3LPE) or polypropylene (3LPP) pipe coating process where Selmers’ own designed extruders are developed for the main purpose of pipe coating application. The top-coat extruders are specially designed for high outputs when processing high density PE materials and having reduced optimized output for medium/low density PE or PP materials. Other purpose for Selmers’ extruders are PP-foam application, color marking and jacket extrusion (e.g. in pipe insulation process).

How it Works
All settings, such process temperatures (barrel), screw speeds, motor current, level indicators, melt pressure and temperature indicator, can be set and monitored from HMI panel.
