Line Up Module (LUM)

Line Up Module (LUM)

Line-up modules align pipe ends before welding in e.g. fabrication lines of spoolbases or double (multi joint) facilities. The line-up modules can move a pipe in the horizontal and vertical direction as well as rotate the pipe. When lined out properly with the other pipe, the line-up modules can press the pipe with constant force against the other pipe, in order to assure gap-free welding.

Advantages:

Easy and flexible integration to existing systems (separate control box)

Equipment can be installed as standalone

Frequency controlled v-shaped (diabolo) roller

Fast drop down function for passing cutback/or weld band

Accurate horizontal and vertical holding positions

Pipe weld orientation can manipulated by rotation units

Separate hydraulic power pack (proportionally controlled)

Operation by an wireless remote control (radio frequency)

How it Works

The horizontal and vertical movement is accomplished by hydraulic cylinders. The diabolo roller and rotation unit are mounted on a carriage frame, which can be moved in the horizontal direction, guided by horizontal guide profiles. The diabolo roller and the rotation unit are mounted separately on a liftable frame, which can be moved in the vertical direction, guided by vertical guide profiles.
