Abrasive screen analysis

Description

A sieve analysis is a procedure used to assess the particle size distribution of blast grit. The size distribution is of critical importance to the way the material performs in use.

Adhesion testing (ASTM D3359-A)

Description

For determine the adhesion strength of an epoxy coating a meter is used. The adhesion test is according to STM D 4541, AS/NZS 1580.408.5, EN 13144, ISO 4624 supersedes EN 24624 & NF T30-062, ISO 16276-1, JIS K 5600-5-7 & NF T30-606

Training goal

Cathodic disbonding tester

Description

The cathodic disbonding tester is designed to test the resistance of the coating against disbonding, whilst the coating is subjected to electrical stress in a highly conductive, alkaline electrolyte. The tests are according to most standards like: NACE RP0394, DIN 30671, ASTM G8, ASTM G42 and ASTM G95

Cleanliness SA tester (ISO 8501-1)

Description

ISO 8501 provides a method of making a visual assessment of the cleanliness of surfaces.

This training explains how to determine the cleanliness of a surface according to ISO 8501-1.

 

DCCT holiday detector

Description

Holiday testing is a non-destructive test method applied on protective coatings to detect unacceptable discontinuities such as pinholes and voids.

Dust test

Description

Prior to coating a pipe it is important to check if the dust level is within limits. To determine the amount dust test tape is used.

Impact resistance tester

Description

To the test the resistance of the coating against the impact of a punch load the impact resistance tester is used. The impact resistance tester is designed to test according to DIN 30670 and DIN 30678.

Indentation hardness tester

Description

According to DIN 30670 and DIN 30678 the resistance of a applied coating needs to be tested. The indentation hardness tester is designed for testing the resistance of the coating to the indentation of an indentor.

Peeling resistance tester (automatic operated)

Description

To get an indication of the bond strength you can use an automatic peeling resistance tester. The automatic peeling tester of this training is designed according to NFA 49-711, Annexe E, method E.3 as well as ISO 21809-1, method C3.3.

Description

Description

For determine the blasted surface profile of a pipe, a replica tape or a roughness surface profile meter can be used.

Soluble salt determination tester

Description

Prior to coating a pipe it is important to check if there is any soluble salt present. To determine the amount of soluble salts a test kits are is used.

Description
